Someone Remembers My Natal Day

I received a birthday greeting card in the mail today from our dear family friend. It was so thoughtful of him to send me a card for the first time ever! I love it when someone remembers me not just on my birthday but in ordinary days as well. I feel blessed to have known Mike in my life. I met him in the Philippines when he came with my husband to meet me the second time.

Just so he knows that I appreciate his thoughtfulness, I am posting the card here on this blog for keeps forever. Many thanks to him, he made my day! Take note, he is the first one to greet me for my birthday. Will be expecting a flooding of greetings on Facebook from friends that care on the 21st.

Strip Steak For My Birthday?

I can't remember when was the last time we had steaks. Probably that long huh because I am not the type of person that forgets things easy. I will be turning 29 in 17 days and perhaps a strip steak doesn't hurt? But I already told the husband I don't want something else for my birthday except if we could have lunch somewhere in Grapevine. I hope I could get a cash refund on Coach handbags I'm planning to return so I can have some money to treat my family to lunch.

Wants To Attend The Party

How amazing it is for a four-year old child's mind associating birthdays with PARTIES. I told her last night that it was her Auntie Alex's 12 birthday yesterday Philippine time and she said, I wanna go to Auntie Alex and attend the party!

Teewweeewww! I can't help but laugh out loud because of her statement. I didn't expect that all. How I wish we can be there with my sister so to make her 12th birthday a memorable one, I can only do simple things to make her happy on her big day but sadly, I am too far away from her.

I feel kind of guilty for I only greeted her on chikka that goes directly to her phone a happy birthday and one on Facebook. I wish I had the motivation to call the Philippines but the situation is so different now that my father is gone. I can't help but wish sometimes he was still alive and be the first one to answer the phone whenever I call my family.

Jadyn's Birthday

We celebrated my lil girl's birthday last January 16. It was just so simple, we bought our baby a big cupcake and put some topping in it, lighted a number 2 candle on it and let the girl blow it. Then weekend followed, Rose my friend, threw Jadyn a small feast as her late birthday celebration at her place. We had fun although there were only 7 of us including the two husbands. She received a barbie doll and a floating swan boat from Rose and a ten-dollar cash from Annie eventhough she'd already given her a big girly bike last Christmas.

On that very same day, I was contemplating on how we celebrated her first birthday in the Philippines differently. We had the whole house full of small children and adults. It was quite a grand birthday indeed. Lots of foods were served on the table, a dozen of balloons and a filipino kind ice cream in a cone. Hmm I miss my home country!
